Because We Are Not

Sometimes emotions can only be described when they are being relatively felt. And even then, words fall short of the human experience.

A short and sweet poem written a few months back. Still impressed by the spontaneous rhythm that came about during procrastination and stress.

With love

In love

But the truth is

Reality sucks

Because we are not

In love

My heart soars

When I see you

Think of you

The soaring falls

My wings are clipped

Because we are not

Your words are sweet

In favor of me

But you don’t want to be

What do I do with this unwanted love?

It was meant for you

This heart is getting heavy

You refuse to hold it

Because we are not

I cannot say goodbye

Our friendship

But true

My feet won’t walk away

However you may never stay

With me for long

Because we are not
